Duration: 2 Days/1 Night (Plus Pre-Day Briefing)
Challenge Level (Physical): High

Pre-Day: Meet-up and PreparationWe meet in the charming town of San Martín de los Andes. This crucial day is dedicated to the introduction of your certified guides and a thorough safety check of all required gear and apparel, ensuring you are optimally prepared for the climb.

Day 1: Volcano Base to High Camp (Dome Refuge) – Approx. 4-5 Hours
Upon arrival at the volcano base, we complete the mandatory registration with the Lanín National Park rangers. We fine-tune our gear and start the ascent. The trek is divided into one-hour segments with strategic stops for lunch, rest, and hydration. We maintain a steady, conservative pace, focusing on conserving energy reserves for the demanding summit day. Overnight is in a mountain dome refuge. The rest of the day is dedicated to eating, hydrating, and essential rest.

Day 2: Summit Attempt and Descent to the Base – Approx. 14 hours
We wake up and have breakfast while it’s still dark. After a final gear check, we set off toward the summit with headlamps on, light packs, and helmets secured. The monumental effort required to climb the 1,600+ meters of vertical gain is profoundly rewarded by the sweeping views and, most notably, a magnificent sunrise that illuminates the Andes as we march. On the way down, we stop again at the refuge to quickly refuel and collect the gear we left behind. This challenging day requires approximately 14 hours of trekking, culminating in our triumphant return to the base of the volcano.
